U3AOS3 Topic 3: Induced Current

Lenz’s Law states that when there is a chance in flux a current will be induced on the wire/wires of the object.

Lenz’s Law is calculated through Faraday’s Law formula.

Current is induced through 2 ways:

The field coming towards it

The ‘system’ opposing it

If there is an increase in flux.

Increase in flux = moving in the field

Therefore, the system tries to move out of the field and will push against it.

use the right-hand grip rule to calculate the direction of current

If there is a decrease in flux.

Decrease in flux = moving out of field

Therefore, the system tries to into out of the field and will attract towards it.
